Veromo was born from our first-hand experience of knowing how frustrating and time-consuming it can be to set up a small business and be kept from your real work. How paperwork and bureaucracy can so easily stifle the dream.
Developed from hundreds of hours of speaking to real small business people with real small business problems, Veromo is set to change the way Australians put their dreams of working for themselves into action. It’s mind-blowingly simple and proof of our own belief that starting and growing a business shouldn’t be so hard.
She’s an innovator. After 20 years in marketing, developing new digital products and solutions for some of Australia’s best-known brands, she joined forces with co-founder Andy – with whom she’d already shared the pain of starting a small business. And so Veromo was born. She brings a keen appreciation for UX, a wealth of creativity, and a razorlike business acumen.
He’s a relationship builder. Before he met Lu and co-founded Veromo, he practised as a commercial litigator for over a decade, acting for a broad range of clients from high-net-worth individuals to listed companies. He’s the ideal candidate for business development and operations, cultivating opportunities in new and existing markets, and nurturing key partnerships.
Director, Corporate Strategy
He’s a big thinker. He drives Veromo’s entire corporate strategy. With 30 years in mergers and acquisitions, and having co-founded and funded many a start-up before this, he’s the perfectly positioned to guide Veromo through its own startup processes, and steer it towards becoming a global leader.
Andy and Luscheyne were no strangers to starting a small business in Australia when they partnered to form the Virtual Collective in 2012. Once again, they found themselves buried in paperwork. Forms. Checklists. Endless red tape.
Andy was a commercial litigator. Luscheyne was a digital innovator. The world had become more connected. There had to be a smarter way to start a small business, and automate most of the setup process…
So they started asking questions. What about the people who were new to all of this? How long did it take them to set up? Was there a life raft?
The answer to the last question was ‘partly’. Business registration services in Australia weren’t exactly new. But with all the buzz about ‘digital disruption’, not one outfit offered a one-stop fully integrated solution. They realised there was a big gap in the market.
Armed with extensive market research and Veromo’s business plan, the next step was getting a valuation and sourcing investors. When a mentor introduced them to Jamie Henderson of the Transocean Group for advice, they soon saw the idea’s potential, and invested themselves. It was just the lift they needed to get started: money, knowledge and experience.
Starting Veromo was – ironically – a great beta test for the product, inspiring a life raft of ideas for new apps and tools – from NameFinder and OnceForm to Adminimiser – with plenty more exciting features to come.
As for the future, anything’s possible. As the startup for startups, Veromo is perfectly poised to help people across Australia realise their dreams. And after Australia? Next stop: the world.

“There’s at least 14 forms and 20 decisions before you can even launch your small business. ”
– Andy Giles
The hardest bit of starting out is the very start. A unique business name, an ABN, an ACN, business cards, a trademark search, a brand ID, a logo and a tagline. Not to mention a website – with design, dev, copy, domain registration, hosting and email.
At every turn, there’s another form, you fill in the exact same information – consuming hours of your valuable startup time. And that’s just the regulatory stuff.
“Our product was created to empower people to take the leap and realise their dreams.”
– Luscheyne Mellon
Veromo gets your business off to a flying start, by streamlining and automating most of the startup process. Our NameFinder tool helps you choose a business name, then does an instant availability check – not just for the name itself, but web domains and social media accounts too.
And here’s the clincher. If you’re good to go, you simply enter your details into our OnceForm, and everything you need is registered at once: your domain, ABN and ACN.
And within an hour, you’ve officially started a business.
“Get your business off to a flying start.”
